"I'm always trying to do things  with minimum resources but at the same time achieve the maximum civilising effects. Ultimately I'm looking for a 'system'  that can let me approach the work that I do with some degree of logic and intelligence.

I'm an evolutionary biologist, more than a designer.
I don't know what design is anymore, I create form, I understand form and I'm enjoying the digital age to create it.
I'm hoping to push that even further.

My work also relates to nature,  in an evolutionary sense, as I'm concerned with reduction.  I exercise what is called 'organic essentialism' which means using  nothing more - nothing less than is needed.
I feel comfortable in this organic, isomorphic, anthropomorphic,  liquid age of making things, but I try not to force it into things that  don't need it."

“Puppy, the sit-on-dog for children designed by Eero Aarnio, is a beautiful object. We were asked to “do something with it”, to give it a personal touch that would make it a unique piece and an object that would interest design collectors. The intent is for Puppy to go to auction and hopefully raise money for cancer research.

Puppy is clearly too good looking to be modified in any way, instead we decided to build a home for Puppy to sit in. The pitched roof plywood house reflects the qualities of its inhabitant the ambiguity between figurativeness and abstraction. The house is a symbol of home, as Puppy is a symbol of pet. Puppy fits into the house both forward and backward.”

During the day, I am like a dog forever biting upon a dry bone and getting nothing but the blood of my own lips. I ought not to live in this way but I have no choice, as there are others in the family to support. So, many of my hours are as the dog’s concern with the dry bone – wasted.
My time is given over only to the gain of worldly wealth. Go from bowl to bowl, unsatisfied in my attempts for fulfilment and desire.

The practice of the Modern Monk is to remain in isolated places,
As obscurations will gradually diminish due to abandoning harmful objects,
Virtuous actions will gradually increase as the mind is not distracted,
And due to clear-mindedness the awareness will arise.

The harmful object refers to whatever objects cause generating a negative mind…so attachment, hatred, anger…whatever objects whatever things create negative emotions in your mind…that object is considered a negative or harmful object.

Clear mindedness refers to the pure state of mind which doesn't have any delusions, afflictions, or negative emotions. And, your mind is clearer when your mind doesn't have strong afflictions…delusions…then that mind will automatically have a stronger understanding…stronger conviction…of our capability. And, when you have less delusion, less ignorance you have a stronger practice of benefiting others…a stronger positive mind.

Therefore, practice of isolation is important for the beginners. If your mind is not trained, there is no way you can benefit others…there's no way that you can train or you can calm others mind. So, therefore, the first thing is train your mind and make calm…have a peace of mind…for your own mind. And once you have that qualification then you will be able to benefit others.

Wherever we go, wherever we stay there are always people around you and it is important to be able to keep a good relationship with others. If you can, practice loving kindness, compassionate mind, and help others.

Toward our friends and those we love run the waters of attachment,
Toward our enemies burns the fire of aversion; in the obscurity of ignorance,
We lose sight of what should be abandoned and what should be practiced.
Therefore renunciation of one’s country and home is a practice of the Modern Monk .

Attachment and aversion bring destructive behaviour and create much negative force and suffering. These two troublemakers are the chief among all our disturbing emotions and attitudes, and both come from unawareness (ignorance). We need to replace them with an attitude of wishing for the benefit of others.
Do not think, "This is my country, my family," as though there were a findable, inherently existent country for which we could have attachment or for which we could have hatred of its enemies.

You’ve got to let it go, let it go.
You’ve got reason to be angry, but try not to let it grow;
When you brood on hate and bitterness till that is all you feel;
You will never have the strength to stop the wheel.

If you don’t know when to let go you’ll built up anger, resentment, stress, jealousy, pain. Learn to shrug and walk. You don’t have to forgive or forget or anything, except drop it and walk away.

Know when to quit.
Know when the dog is dead.

Let it go and say goodbye. Concentrate on the next big exciting thing you can do.
